Lay Apostolate

Lay apostolate caters for the lay faithful movements and Associations (solidarities). Their aim is to promote Christian call to holiness, inculcate Gospel values in Christian communities and in all their spheres of life.

These includes: Small Christian Communities, Catholic men association, Catholic Women Association, Youth, Pontifical Missionary Childhood, Marriage Encounter, Legion of Mary, Charismatic Renewal, Liturgical Music groups, Sacred Heart, etc.

A) SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES

In light with the early Christian Community, the Small Christian Communities are the basic foundation of the church in the neighborhood. They are at heart of the Church in the diocese.

• The families gather together every week to pray,
• Share the word of God,
• Encourage each other in all spheres of life.
• Foster Christian unity and cooperation.

B) CATHOLIC WOMEN ASSOCIATION (CWA):

It is an association of Catholic Women within the structure of the Catholic Church. It's purpose is to bring Catholic Women together to foster unity, the service and care for their families, the Church and society.

Through workshops, Seminars, retreats and recollections, the members are able to foster spiritual growth in relation to their Motto: Strong on Faith.

Objectives:

• Foster unity among members and promoting evangelization by witnessing Christ in their everyday life.
• Educate members on good stewardship and on issues affecting their lives and their families
• Promote and develop support project of interest for the local and universal church

C) CATHOLIC MEN ASSOCIATION

The Catholic Men Association is an Ecclesial Movement for all men in the Catholic Church. The Association is affiliated to the International Council of Catholic Man (ICCM) whose head office is in the Vatican Rome.

• The mission of the CMA is to assist in promoting the spiritual welfare of the parish,
• Encourage by word and action the practice of Christian Principals in the community,
• Enhance Fellowship among members and guests,
• Promote Parish Social Activities and develop and implement Support Projects of interest in the local and universal church.

D) LEGION OF MARY

This is a devotional group which helps to strengthen the faith of the Lay people and live their spirituality.

E) CHOIR ASSOCIATION

It is a group of people that assemble together to evangelize through Liturgical music.

The aim is to:

• Promote active participation in liturgical celebrations
• Foster Catholic faith through liturgical music

F) CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL

It is a movement that renews and rejuvenates the spirituality of the Christians. It mostly invites the Holy Spirit to guide and lead the whole life of a person.

G) PONTIFICAL MISSIONARY CHILDHOOD

This association is for little ones to help the little ones. It aims at helping children to adequately carry out their local and universal mission of the church.
