Catechetical Programme
The catechetical programme supports catechists in their vital role of evangelization. The programme aims to foster their education, spiritual and pastoral formation. Their role is central in carrying out the mission of the church in the expansive area of the Diocese where priests are not able to have their daily presence.
Encyclical, Redemptoris Missio states "Catechists are specialized workers direct witnesses indispensable Evangelizers, who represent the basic strength of Christians communities especially in the young Churches".
The Diocese has two categories of catechists; trained and the untrained (most of whom are volunteers). In total the diocese has 350 catechists working in the 29 Parishes.
Main activities carried out by the office:
- Coordinates Catechetical activities within the Catholic Diocese of Ngong

- Christian on-going formation through on-going catechesis and retreats
- Special attention for the sick and aged
