RT. REV CORNELIUS SCHILDER (69)

He was born in 1941 at Westwood, Holland. After elementary studies, he attended secondary studies in 1956 at the Minor Seminary in Hoorn to become a Mill Hill Missionary. Upon completion of his secondary education the Bishop elect commended his studies in philosophy at the Mill Hill College in Rossendaal, Holland and later in 1964 studied Theology at Mill Hill College in London, England.  Rt. Rev Cornelius was ordained to the priesthood on 29th June 1968 at his home village Westwoud.

After his priestly ordination, the Rt. Rev. Cornelius was appointed to the teaching staff at the Minor Seminary in Tilburg, Holland. In January 1971, he was assigned to Diocese of Ngong and worked as Parish Priest at Kilgoris, Ilkerin and Lemek parishes in Narok District.

He was appointed Diocesan Secretary of Ngong Diocese on 5/8/1989 and also the Financial Administrator of the Diocese.   In 1991, Rt. Rev. Schilder was appointed Parish Priest in Tarasaa in the Diocese of Garissa and he was there until 1998 when he was elected Vice Regional Representative of the Mill Hill Missionaries in East Africa.  In 2000 he was elected Regional Representative of the Mill Hill Missionaries in East Africa.

He was appointed Bishop of Ngong Diocese on 23rd November 2002 and consecrated on the 25th of January 2003.

He has done studies Agriculture in Holland. He speaks Dutch, French, English, German, Kiswahili and Kimaasai.  He learnt agriculture from his parents who were farmers.

He resigned as Bishop of Ngong on 1st August 2009 due to health problem.

He was born on .06.10 (Spain) Palmas Island.  He was Ordained Priest 1952.07.13 Consecrated Bishop 1977.02.27

He became the Prefect Apostolic of Ngong in 1964.07.09 to 1976.12.09

Bishop of Ngong 1976.12.09  and retired on 2002.11.23

 He was on Born 1902.11.19 (Netherlands) Ordained Priest: 1927.07.17 Consecrated Bishop 1964.03.19. He become the Prefect Apostolic of Ngong (Kenya) in 1960.01.15 to 1964.01.16

He was consecrated Bishop of Kisumu (1964.01.16 -1976.03.20)
